Dr. Rajiv Nayan

Dr Rajiv Nayan is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi and working on international relations, security issues, especially the politics of nuclear disarmament, export control, non-proliferation, and arms control since 1993. Rajiv was a Visiting Research Fellow, Japan Institute of International Affairs, Tokyo, where he published his monograph- Non-Proliferation Issues in South Asia, Senior Researcher, Peace Research Institute Oslo, Senior Visiting Research Fellow, King’s College London and Visiting Fulbright Scholar, Center on International Cooperation, New York University. He holds a Ph.D. in Missile Technology Control Regime and Indian Security and Economy and M.Phil. in Disarmament Studies and MA in international relations from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Dr Nayan has published extensively including Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and India (Ed, Routledge, 2011) and working his forthcoming monograph The Strategic Trade Management and India.  He has published in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Strategic Analysis, Jane’s and Jane’s Intelligence Review and in International Herald Tribune, Ashahi Shimbun, Hindustan Times and Times of India.

He is an Indian partner of the Washington-based Fissile Materials Working Group (FMWG) on nuclear security and Member, Regional Network of Strategic Studies Centers Weapons of Mass Destruction/Border Security Working Group, Member, Executive Council, the Indian Pugwash Society, Member, Governing Council of the International Export Controls Association at University of Georgia in Washington DC, Member, Export Controls Experts Group and Multilateral Security Governance in Northeast Asia/North Pacific of the Council for Security Cooperation in Asia Pacific (CSCAP).
