A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute for Australia India Engagement and the North East Foundation, India on 2 October 2018 in Brisbane. The MoU was signed by Dr Ashutosh Misra, CEO and Executive Director, IAIE and NEF CEO Mr Bhanu Pratap Singh. Ms Zanbeni Yanthan signed the MoU on behalf of Mr Singh. The MoU will promote bilateral cooperation and empower entrepreneurs, traders, farmers and government officials of the seven North Eastern states comprising Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. The MoU will facilitate technical cooperation, capacity building programmes, research collaboration, practitioner exchanges and policy dialogue between the North eastern states and Australian universities, research institutions, private stakeholders and government departments in the field of agriculture, security, policing, tourism, business and trade.
