Kasturi holds a BSc in Plant Science from the University of Calcutta (Presidency College), followed by an MSc in Plant Science with a specialization in Biochemistry. Subsequently, she completed a second master’s degree in natural sciences at Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, OK). Upon graduating from OSU, she transitioned to the social sciences, obtaining a third master’s degree in sociology of biomedicine from the London School of Economics, where her research focused on new reproductive technologies.
After obtaining these academic degrees, Kasturi accrued 15 years of experience in the corporate sector, specializing in consumer insights, business strategy, and marketing. She has held roles at organizations such as Kantar, Nielsen, IPSOS, IQVIA, MetrixLab (Toluna), and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. Most recently, she served as Research Director at Ipsos India.
She is currently based in Canberra and specialises in reproductive healthcare and alternative family structures.
