Research Manager – Climate and Energy; Regional Coordinator – South Asia Dr. Nandakumar Janardhanan

Dr. Nandakumar Janardhanan is Assistant Professor in the Energy Studies Programme of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. He specialises in energy and climate policy and has research interests in energy security and geopolitics, climate policy, nuclear power, low-carbon development and renewable energy. He has been associated with several policy think tanks, research organizations and Universities of international repute. He is currently a Distinguished Visiting Faculty with the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University (Japan), a Member of Teaching and Advisory Team at The Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance of the University of Strathclyde (Scotland, UK), a Fellow with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (Japan) and an Adjunct Fellow with the Institute of Chinese Studies (India). He also worked with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies as Policy Researcher and Regional Research Coordinator (2010 – 2015), as Associate Project Manager of Nuclear Energy Research Division at GlobalData (UK), as Visiting Fellow with the Japan Institute of International Affairs, (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan), Research Assistant at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (Under the Ministry of Defence, India). He was also a Fellow with the ‘Climate CoLab’ of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2014–2015) and an instructor for the Nuclear Energy training programme of the International Atomic Energy Agency (2011–2014). Dr. Janardhanan has published with well-known academic publishers and in reputed international journals.
