Michael Sing is a senior legal practitioner and a partner in a Brisbane law firm.
He has experience in a wide range of areas of law including property and commercial law, banking and finance, insurance and risk management business transactions, employment matters and commercial dispute resolution.
He has represented and advised large corporations, Federal State and local government departments, as well as local regional business interests.
His own personal background gives him a keen interest in assisting in the development of relationships, engagement and investment by migrants from all countries within Australia. He is a strong advocate of the benefits of a diverse and multicultural Australia.
He is a current Council member and the chair of Risk and Compliance for a large and elite school in Brisbane. He is also a current Board Member of a special needs school in Brisbane. He has been a member of a Gold Coast University School of Business Strategic Advisory Committee, which was an interface body between local business and corporate interests and the University. Michael has been a member of a standards and ethics committee for a national health and medical group on which he has advised upon and assisted with decisions concerning disciplinary conduct hearings and related matters. He has been an Executive Committee Member of a leading body for assisting and facilitating Chinese investment and business in Queensland. He was also a founding member of a “Homeless Youth” council on the Gold Coast in the mid-80’s providing refuge and support for young people.
Michael grew up in the deep north and was educated in Catholic schools (Innisfail and Cairns) and attended James Cook University in Townsville and Australian National University in Canberra. He has been a resident of Brisbane for the past 8 years. He is married and has 4 adult children.
Michael enjoys watching most sports including rugby, cricket and rugby league, and is a passionate maroon supporter. He enjoys fishing and boating on Moreton Bay. He loves travelling, especially if it involves fishing, diving or skiing. He enjoys good theatre and arts festivals. He enjoys cooking, and has been known to enjoy good food and wine.
