Professor To-hai Liou

Professor To-hai Liou (劉德海) is Professor at the Department of Diplomacy and Directors of the Center for WTO Studies and Center for Australian Studies, College of International Affairs, National Chengchi University(NCCU), Taiwan. He is currently Visiting fellow, the University of New South Wales Canberra at Australia Defence Forces Academy (ADFA), July-September 2018. Professor Liou was Chair, Department of Diplomacy at NCCU (August 2013-July 2017) and President of the Chinese Association of Korean Studies.

In addition, he has been a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Political Science at the University of Melbourne (2001-2002); Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary, (summer 2002); Department of International Relations in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the Australian National University (2006-2007); Department of International Relations and European Studies, Faculty of Social Studies at the Masaryk University (November 2008 and November 2009); Brno in the Czech Republic; Centre for Dialogue at the La Trobe University, Melbourne (June-September 2011) under the Executive Endeavour Award of the Australian Government; Visiting Scholar Program (summer 2012), Kyungpook National University; and at University of Economics, Prague (November 2016 and November 2017).

He has published in the academic journals such as the Journal of East Asian Affairs, International Journal of Korean Unification Studies, Foreign Trade Review and the Icfai University Journal of International Relations. His academic interests include Free Trade Agreements, Asian economic integration, international relations of Northeast Asia, international relations of Southeast Asia, comparative foreign policies, foreign policies of two Koreas, Japan and Australia and India. He is currently working on a book on Australia and the Indo-Pacific.
